Board of Adjustments
The Board of Adjustment consists of five members, plus one additional member designated as an alternate who shall attend and serve only when one of the regular members is unable to attend for any reason, appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three-year terms. Members of the Board of Adjustment must be owners of or tenants in real property in the City of Bridgeport and be qualified electors of the City, however one member must be a member of the planning commission, and one member must be a resident in the one-mile extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction of the City.
The purpose of the Board of Adjustment shall be to hear and decide appeals when it is alleged there is error made by the Zoning Administrator in enforcing the zoning regulations of the City of Bridgeport.
