The City of Bridgeport (population 1,532) is seeking its next City Administrator. Bridgeport is the Morrill County Seat, and is a progressive community in the Nebraska Panhandle. Bridgeport has a State Lake Recreation area at its border, and is located near Courthouse and Jail Rocks. The City has the Mayor/Council form of government, four members and Mayor elected at large.
Starting salary is negotiable, depending upon qualifications. The city provides a full benefit package which includes but is not limited to health and life insurance; 401k; vacation; sick leave; and holidays. The City of Bridgeport is an equal opportunity employer.
Qualified candidates should posses a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, or related field and a minimum of two years progressively responsible job-related experience in a professional management position. The City Administrator shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the city and shall serve as an administrative agent for the Mayor and City Council in the supervision of the offices and good government of the city.
The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, values and skills in grant obtainment, governing body and citizen communication techniques. The City of Bridgeport, Nebraska is seeking highly-qualified applicants for the position of Chief of Police. Requirements for applicants are: Law Enforcement Certification; at least 21 years of age; a US citizen; Possessa a valid Nebraska driver's license; possess a high school diploma or GED certificate; strong skills in written and verbal communication; staff supervision, law enforcement and requires working weekends, holidays and evenings. The position of Chief of Police is highly visible and requires exceptional interpersonal and time management skills. The position responsible for the control and management of all items related to the Police Department, including property and equipment; personnel, evidence, documents and records. The Chief of Police will work closely with the Mayor and City Council to make recommendations in the form of ordinances, and will present the annual budget for the department.
