Water Rates

ORDINANCE NO. 859

 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM FOR WATER USAGE; PRESCRIBING THE TIME WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.

             BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRIDGEPORT, NEBRASKA:

 Section 1: Water Rates.Users of water supplied by the City of Bridgeport Water Department, Nebraska, the rates charged by the City Water Department shall be as follows:

 Flat Rate Schedule of Water Rates effective on the billing payable on or after December 1, 2012:

 Customer Charge, All Residential and Commercial....................................... $34.00/month

Usage, per 100 gallons....................................................................................... $0.23 cents

 Flat Rate Schedule of Water Rates effective on the billing payable on or after October 1, 2013:

 Customer Charge, All Residential and Commercial....................................... $36.00/month

Usage, per 100 gallons....................................................................................... $0.24 cents

Section 2: Customer’s Partial Month of Usage Pro-rated for Base Charge.  Users of water supplied by the city of Bridgeport Water Department, Nebraska base charge shall be charged on a prorated system of equal amounts per day of each month that the property is hooked up and in service.  At no time shall this amount exceed the maximum base rate per month and the minimum shall be five dollars ($5.00).

Section 3: Repeal of Previous Ordinances.  Any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

 

Section 4: Effective Date; Publication authorized in pamphlet form.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication according to law.

Section 5: Severability.  If any portion or provision of this resolution shall for any reason be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the invalidity or unenforceability of such portion or provision shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this Resolution, the intention being that the same are severable.
