Police Department

The City of Bridgeport Police Department includes the Offices of Police Chief and Police Officers. All employees are appointed by the Mayor, and report to the Police Chief, Mayor, and City Council.

The Police Department is responsible for all public safety operations of the City, including the enforcement of applicable federal, state, county and local ordinances and laws.
